Procedure : Make two lines of students one of boys and one of girls. Write words which you want to test on boards in circles. e.g. if checking similar words, write d words on the board and ask the students its similar meaning. The first student who recognizes the word and slaps on the correct word on the board gets point. Change the first students from each line after one word and continue with other pairs from the two lines.
This game has been proved effective in teaching English in a fun way. I started with checking synonyms but later found out another implementations too. I am going to use it in following ways:
1 Using for antonyms
2 Practising colours and the things or objects of that colour. e.g. fruits and their colours.
3 Describing words and nouns from the taught lesson.
4 Past forms and past participles of irregular verb forms.
5 For testing related words or action words.
Apart from teaching English, this method can work wonders for teaching other subjects too e.g. Maths, science, history and geography.
1 Roots and square roots and tables can be tested informally.
2 Vitamins and their sources can be checked.
3 Countries and their capitals or important cities or any important information can be tested.
4 The most boaring task of history of revising years and incidents or important personalities and their achievements can be checked in a fun loving way.
Thus it becomes useful in following ways:
1 Evaluation in an informal way.
2 Students participate eagerly due to its friendly way.
3 Good chance for kinaesthetic students to perform actively.
